Tiles with a Twist

What you need:
  • Cardstock
  • Rubberstamps Bold (solid) and Open Line (detailed)
  • Solid or Rainbow color Ink Pads
  • Scissors
  • Stencil Shape (sample provided here)
  • Stylus
  • Double side tape or Glue Stick
  • Ruler
  • Gold Pen (optional)
  • Glitter (optional)

How to:

  1. Cut your Cardstock size 8 ½ x 11 to make one 5x7 regular size card. Fold and keep
other piece of cardstock for tiles.
  2. Turn your card on the back, place it over light table or window with Stencil underneath.
Trace the shape as many times as you like following a pattern of rows and columns.

*Tip---Rub a piece of Wax paper over the paper before you start using the stylus, and
    it will glide better.

  3. On Another piece of Cardstock, trace with pencil the form of your Shape (any kind).
Make Sure you make enough to match the number of Traced Shapes on your card.
    (These will be your "tiles")
  4. Ink your Stamps. Start Stamping inside your traced shapes. Make sure you stamp
designs "off-set" to give it a more interesting view, and to add a Collage element.
  5. When you are done stamping, cut the Stamped shapes SLIGHTLY smaller than the
traced line. (Cut inside the traced lines)
  6. Take your Stenciled Card. Start gluing the "tiles" you made on top of Stenciled shapes.
(Use Double-side tape or glue stick) Make Sure you can see the stenciled lines.
If you can’t, then trim the "tile" more.
  7. To Finish your card, with ruler, trace lines on edges of card with your Gold Pen.

Tips and Variations:

  1. You can add glitter to tiles
  2. You can Use embossing powder on your "tiles".
  3. Write Messages on each one.
  4. Use different colors cardstock for your tiles
  5. Add Mini Beads to the tiles
  6. Cut Edges of Card with Decorative Scissors, and then use gold pen.
